Because of the injury to Frederick Wegrzyn and that his replacement, Rodrigo Martinez must comply with mandatory quarantine in Europe, Carlos Muzzio will be the pillar that will be added to The Pumas facing the duel with Romania next Saturday.
The 36-year-old pilar from Corrientes has extensive experience in European rugby. In 2007 he emigrated from his club, Saint Patrick Rugby to France.
The first two seasons in French professional rugby were from 2010 to 2012 at Federale 1 in Vannes (Rodrigo Bruni’s current team competing in Pro D2).
Later, Carlos Muzzio went to Tarben, a team that at that time played in Pro D2, the second division of France.
Finally, in the 2014/2015 season he signed with Mont de Marsan, now called Stade Montois. There he began his career in the club that maintains it to this day.
In the last season he played 21 games, 15 as a starter. He shares a squad with other Argentines such as Leandro Cedaro and Santiago Montagner.
At the national level Muzzio only played the Nations Cup 2016 with Argentina XV. There he played three games, two as a starter. Now he will be one of the two reinforcements chosen by Mario Ledesma to contest the July window to replace Federico Wegrzyn.
