BARCELONA – The Spanish League, which can be followed as of this next season through ESPN in the United States, raffled its official calendar this Wednesday and has already announced the matches of the 20 participants of a tournament that will begin on August 13 and will end on May 22, 2022.
The championship, which will have a Christmas break between December 20 and 30 and will have days on Fridays and Mondays, will live its first Clásico between Real Madrid and Barcelona on October 24 at the Camp Nou, corresponding to matchday 10, and the of the second round will be played at the Bernabéu on March 20, 2022, corresponding to the 29th date of the calendar.
Barça will start the League at home, receiving Real Sociedad, while Real Madrid will visit Alavés, given the circumstance that the merengue team will play its first two days away from home, after having requested it from the organization, and on the second date will visit Levante. For its part, Atlético de Madrid, current champions, will start by visiting Celta de Vigo in Balaídos.
The last day, with a unified calendar regarding the clubs with something in dispute, will take place on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May 2022. On that final date, Atlético de Madrid will visit Real Sociedad, Real Madrid will receive Real Betis and Barcelona will do the same with Villarreal.
The Madrid derby will be played first at the Santiago Bernabéu, on December 12, and in the Metropolitano it will be played in the second round, on May 8, while the return of the Catalan derby after the rise of Espanyol will be experienced first at the Camp Nou, on November 21, and February 13, it will be played at the FCD Stadium.
The duels between Barça and Atlético de Madrid will begin on the mattress ground, on October 3, and in the second round they will be played at the Barça stadium, on February 6.
The four participants in the Spanish Super Cup (Atlético, Real Madrid, Barça and Athletic) will advance their matches from matchday 21 to be played from January 19 to November 30 (Tuesday) and December 1, so they will have a match more during the next month and a half of competition. Barcelona will host Rayo Vallecano at the Camp Nou, Atlético will host Levante at Wanda and Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid will meet in San Mamés.
