In the last hours news was known that surprised the entire paddock of the Formula 1 and the world of European football. Maurizio Arrivabene, former chief of the Ferrari team, is the new CEO of the Juventus from Italy. The former head of the Italian team is still linked to the world of sports, although he will change his activity, forming part of the board of the Turin team.
Arrivabene was head of the Ferrari team between 2014 and 2018. He reached the position of commander of the structure after passing through the board of the tobacco company Philip Morris, becoming vice president of Marlboro, Ferrari’s main sponsor during its glory years. Currently red cars have the logo of Mission winnow, which belongs to Philip Morris.
In 2012, Arrivabene was part of the Juventus rabbit until the end of 2014. In that year, Ferrari announced the surprising change of management: Arrivabene became the new director of the Formula 1 team, replacing Marco Mattiacci, that he was being heavily criticized after fighting with Fernando Alonso, who left the team that season.
In those years, Ferrari fought for the titles but was always in the shadow of the almighty Lewis hamilton and the team Mercedes. Following further criticism from the tifosi, the Italian team announced that Mattia binotto he would come to take Arrivabene’s place. Currently, Binotto retains the position of team manager, while Arrivabene has disappeared from public activity.
However, the Agnelli Family (more precisely Andrea Agnelli), leaders of Juventus and the Ferrari brand, confirmed that Arrivabene would arrive at the Turin club. The Italian was announced as Coordinator of the soccer area, returning to the world of the beautiful sport from which he had moved away to enter Formula 1.
