The Argentine coach Santiago Gómez Cora announced the squad that will participate in the Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo. Set Argentine will have 12 players and there will be 2 reserves in case there is a drop in the delegation. The Pumas 7´s they will play in the group before New Zealand, Australia and South Korea.
The Tokyo Olympics will take place between July 23 and August 8 and the rugby medal will be contested between the 26th and the 28th. Reigning Olympic champion, Fiji, will be in Group B, along with Great Britain (finalist in Rio 2016), Canada and Japan. While in Group C will be South Africa (bronze in Rio), the United States, Kenya and Ireland.
Gómez Cora affirmed that “the most difficult thing there is is to give a list, plus the Olympic one, plus the correct decision. We trust the work we have been doing throughout the year, it is not a one-day decision. We always look for the best option and we had a lot of competition ”.
