South Africa beat Georgia 40-9 in what was his first presentation after the title of the World Cup in Japan 2019. The Springboks scored six tries and next week will be their rematch.
It took the world champions half an hour to find their game and dominate an always fierce Georgian cast, who started better and thanks to the effectiveness of the opening, Tedo Abzhandadze, managed to defeat the locals to get 9 to 5 up at the beginning of the match.
However, the South African cast brought out their champion badge and in just three minutes they turned the game around with the tries of Bongi Mbonambi and Cobus Reinach, to go to rest 19 to 9 and face the complement with another tranquility.
In the second half, those led by Jacques Nienaber started much better and quickly cornered an opponent who gave up the initiative. Even with some inaccuracies, the Springboks began to make a difference with their power and reached the ingoal of the Europeans three times through Kwagga Smith, Herschel Jantjies, and Malcolm Marx.
South Africa had its long-awaited return and it was with victory against a rival who could do little. On the horizon are the British & Irish Lions, a higher-ranking adversary and for which they will have to improve their level considerably. In a week, again against Georgia, they will have their last test to adjust all the details.
