France: Fabien Galthie announced the team to face Australia

The France’s coach, Fabien Galthié, announced the formation that will take to the field to face Australia next Wednesday, July 7 in Brisbane, which will mark the beginning of the July window for both selected. The hooker Gaetan barlot and the fullback Melvyn Jaminet will have their baptism with the national team.

The party changed its original headquarters due to the Covid-19 cases that forced the blockade of Sydney. Brisbane will also host the third and final match on July 17, while the second test will be in Melbourne four days earlier.

The wing Anthony Jelonch, which has nine games as an international, will be the team captain for the first time. The most experienced player on the squad is wing Damian Penaud, with 23 games played.

Jelonch, Penaud and center Arthur Vincent are the only players to start France’s final Six Nations game last March, when they lost to Scotland and handed the title to Wales.

Coach Fabien Galthié named a team without much experience after many potential starters were present at the Top 14 final last weekend, where Toulouse beat La Rochelle.

Due to the Covid-19 protocols in Australia, there was little time to involve them in the first test. French players came to the country last month, but they were forced to stay in quarantine for 14 days and will leave Sydney for Brisbane the day before the game.
