World Rugby confirmed the international calendar for the World Sevens Tour. The contest will begin on September 18 and 19 in Vancouver and seven days later the second date will be played in Edmonton, Canada.
These are times of pandemic in the world and rugby does not escape the new normal. In a special year for the Olympic Games, World Rugby confirmed that there will be six stages for men and four for women, in what will be the 2021 edition of the World Rugby Sevens.
The activity will begin in September with two competitions in Canada. Vancouver (18 and 19) and Edmonton (25 and 26) will be the venues for the first two stages, post Tokyo 2020.
Tournaments will continue in the October with the Seven of Singapore (29 and 30), which will be only for men. For their part, the ladies will have their debut in Paris that month, with a date to be confirmed.
Between November 5 and 7, Hong Kong will welcome men and women in the first event of the season that will bring together the competition of both sexes.
The last two stages of the year will be in December. Dubai (3 and 4) and Cape Town (10 to 12) will have men and women defining the champions of a particular season marked by the restrictions of the pandemic and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
