Kawhi Leonard, operated on the right anterior cruciate ligament

LA Clippers star forward Kawhi Leonard underwent successful surgery to repair a partial anterior cruciate ligament tear in his right knee, the team announced Tuesday.

The Clippers said there was no timetable for his return.

Leonard was injured in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Utah Jazz. He missed his team’s last eight playoff games with what the team called a right knee sprain.

The Clippers rallied from a 2-0 series deficit to beat the Jazz in six games, before being eliminated in six games by the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference Finals.

Leonard, who has a player option for the 2021-22 season, averaged 24.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 52 regular-season games this season.
