Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant led Team USA’s first win in preparation for the Tokyo Olympics.
With 17 KD units, 6 rebounds and three assists, the United States beat Argentina 108-80.
In addition to Durant, the Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal also stood out, with 17 points, 6 boards and 3 assists; Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls had 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
Gregg Popovich’s team accumulated two defeats, one against Nigeria, 90-87 and one more against Australia, 91-83.
In this game, Team USA did not have Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum due to a sore right knee.
He’s officially on the day-to-day list, but the injury is not considered serious. Team USA was going to play back-to-back and Tatum was given scant as a precaution, sources told ESPN.
Tatum is averaging 11.5 points and five rebounds in pre-Olympic exhibition games thus far.
