Beyond the loss of Sebastián Báez, this Thursday there will be more South American action in the ATP 500 from Hamburg in search of the quarterfinals.
On the one hand, the Argentine Federico Delbonis will face Albert Ramos for the round of 16 of the German tournament that is played on brick dust and with prizes of 1,168,220 euros.
Delbonis, born in Azul and ranked 48th in the world rankings, appeared in Hamburg with a victory over Chinese Zhizhen Zhang by 6-1, 5-7 and 6-4, and will play against the Spanish (41st) , who was exempted from the initial round and will enter the tournament directly in the round of 16.
They faced each other eleven times, with seven wins for the Argentine, the last this year at the Masters 1000 in Madrid, and four for the Catalan. In the case of advancing to the quarterfinals, Delbonis will play on Friday against the French Benoit Paire (51 °) or the Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas (130 °).
In the debut, the South American beat Indian Sumit Nagal (154 °) 6-0 and 6-4 in his first ATP 500 match, the sixth at the ATP level and first outside his region.
