EA Sports and The R&A announced their plans to celebrate the 150th edition of the historic The Open Championship in the EA SPORTS PGA TOUR game that is being cooked to the delight of golf and video game lovers.
And it is that with this alliance, the Old Course of St. Andrews, home of The Open 150, will live a high definition process that the fan will enjoy on any platform they have, all for the spring of 2022, when the play.

With the essence of the rich history of The Open and the historic 150th championship, EA SPORTS takes a journey through its long history of creating golf video games, since 1990, to inspire your golf experience on the next generation of consoles. In addition to playing on the Old Course at St Andrews Links, EA SPORTS PGA TOUR players can also look forward to the return of fan-favorite gameplay elements, such as the three-click swing method, which will make a return along with the analog swing mechanics and brand new ones to be detailed in the coming months.
With more than 160 years of history, St Andrews is the birthplace of golf and one of the four most important Majors on the PGA Tour, so players will not only enjoy its famous links on the Old CourseInstead, they will live a one hundred percent realistic experience in the fight for the ‘Claret Jug’.
The Open will be just one of the Majors that players will be able to experience with next-gen authenticity through EA’s Frostbite engine, as EA Sports PGA Tour will have the Masters Tournament, the PGA Championship and the US Open exclusively, in addition to the best events and courses in the world such as the Royal and Ancient Clubhouse and the Swilcan Bridge.

EA SPORTS PGA TOUR is being developed in Orlando and Madrid by EA Tiburon and is expected to launch in spring 2022.
