María Fassi ended her participation in the LPGA Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational this Sunday
MEXICO – The Mexican golfer Maria Fassi she declared herself ready for Tokyo 2020, which will be his first Olympic adventure. The current LPGA participant sent a message and confessed that she wishes the greatest success to Mexican golfers and the Mexican delegation in general.
“Looking forward to it and with a much shorter wait for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, there are days left for me to start my trip to Japan, so I am very happy. It is an honor to represent Mexico in an Olympic tournament and hope it will be a good week for me, for all Mexican golfers and the entire Mexican delegation at these Olympic Games, ”he said in a video.
Fassi ended his participation in the LPGA Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational and was tied for 12th place with four other entrants. The Hidalgo closed a card with 266 strokes to finish -14 under par as she teamed up with American Stacy Lewis.
At just 23 years old, he will join forces with Gaby López in the Olympic tournament a week after men’s golf takes place, where Mexico will be represented by Abraham Ancer and Carlos Ortiz.
Even in January 2020, Fassi confessed to ESPN Digital that, together with Gaby López, they have prepared in the best way to be able to give Mexico the best possible representation.
“She was already able to go to Rio and had the experience of the Olympic Games and that is something else. It is unique. We prepare day and night to arrive in the best way and represent Mexico as it deserves, ”he said on that occasion.
