Africa will have a direct classified to France 2023 World Cup and the loser of the Cup final currently in play will go to the final playoff tournament to ultimately attempt to qualify.
The Africa Cup will define the qualifier for the World Cup to be played in France. The team that wins this competition will enter Group A directly with France, New Zealand, Italy and Americas 1. The loser of the final will go as Africa 2 to the final repechage tournament.
The quarterfinal crosses were defined last weekend:
Namibia, the main candidate to qualify directly, will receive Burkina Faso. And in the other match of that key, Zimbabwe will do the same against Ivory Coast.
On the other side of the table, Senegal will face Algeria. While, Uganda and Kenya will meet to define the other semifinalist.
From those eight countries, the direct qualifier for France 2023 will come out and who will play the final playoff to try to get another place that will fall in Group C with Wales, Australia, Fiji and Europe 1.
