Boca Juniors and River Plate must agree on the date for the Superclásico for the Argentine Cup

Once the round of 16 series of the CONMEBOL Libertadores is closed, Boca Juniors and River Plate must agree to set the date of the quarterfinal match of the Argentine Cup.

Next week the day of the dispute must be defined, but the two teams have different preferences. It was originally due to be played on August 4.

Gustavo Yarroch detailed in ESPN F90 What are the options being considered: one would be for the Superclásico to take place, as planned, at the beginning of next month, a date that River Plate wants, since it will have a week for its first clash with Atlético Mineiro for the Libertadores.

Meanwhile, Boca Juniors prefers the other option, which would be at the beginning of September, which would coincide with the FIFA Date. The Xeneize only had two summoned in the last competition of selections (Frank Fabra and Edwin Cardona), while the Millionaire rejects this date because he would lose seven footballers, mostly starters.

The Argentine Cup is especially important because it gives a direct classification to the Copa Libertadores.
