Gold and World Record for Australia in Women's 4x100 Freestyle Relay

Teams from Canada and the United States accompanied the Australian record holders on the podium

TOKYO – Australian women’s relay team established a new world record in the free 4×100 test, after winning this Sunday in the final of the Tokyo Games with a time of 3: 29.69.

The Australian quartet, made up of Bronte Campbell, Meg Harris, Emma McKeon and Cate Campbell, lowered by 36 hundredths the previous universal record owned by the oceanic team itself with a time of 3: 30.05 since April 2018.

Australia was 3.09 seconds ahead of Canada, who hung the silver medal with a time of 3: 32.81, and in 3.12 a United States who occupied the third step of the podium with a mark of 3: 32.81.
