The Mexican is a coach of the Egyptian Taekwondo team and his team obtained third place in the men’s and women’s branches

Óscar Salazar, a former Mexican taekwondoin who won the silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, won third place in Tokyo 2020 as coach of Egyptian Hedaya Malak, who beat the United States in the -67 kg category.

The taekwondoin commanded by Salazar, beat the North American with a score of 17-6. However, this was not the only bronze medal for Egyptian Taekwondo, since it was also In the men’s category, the African country won bronze in the -80 kg category.

Seif Eissa defeated Norwegian Richard Ordemann in three rounds, with a score of 12 for four, a figure that was enough for him to obtain third place in the Olympic tournament.

Like Malak, Eissa is also trained by the former Mexican Olympian. Salazar has been a coach of the Egyptian Taekwondo team since October 2019.
