The Pumas 7s: Moneta, Cinti and Mendy, achieved gold in the YOGBA and want the medal in Tokyo

The Pumas 7’s were among the best four of the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games and the dream of hanging an Olympic medal is not new for some members of the squad. Because although it is not the same feeling in the senior than in a youth category, Marcos Moneta, Ignacio Mendy and Lucio Cinti were champions at the Youth Olympic Games, held in Buenos Aires in 2018.

The three players live their first Olympic appointment in majors in Tokyo, after the successful passage in the YOGBA, in which they beat France in the decisive match, 24-18.

In addition to the Olympic experience, both Moneta and Mendy (as well as Rodrigo Isgro) They have been part of the Under-20 Selection that participated in the World Cup of the category that took place in our country in 2019.

For its part, in the case of Cinti, it is worth mentioning that he was already with Los Pumas in the 2020 Rugby Championship and was part of the 23-player roster that beat the All Blacks.

Although experience is the key in this type of competition, young people want to contribute their talent and above all, try to revive the unique feeling of hanging a medal on their chest.
