The Lionesses, already classified to the quarterfinals, fell 2-0 against Australia

The Argentine women’s field hockey team, Las Leonas, fell 2-0 this Saturday against Australia in the last match of Group B of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Although Las Leonas were classified in the quarterfinals, they were looking for a victory in this match that would allow them to access a better crossing in the next instance.

But in a very even and locked match, a gross error by Argentina at the start allowed the oceanic teams to open the scoring through Savannah Fitzpatrick and, from there, stop counterattacking.

A strategy that paid off quickly, since minutes later it was in this way that the Aussies extended the advantage of Emily Chalker’s hand.

The Lionesses are now waiting for the group stage matches to be completed to meet the team they will face in search of a victory that will allow them to get into the medal matches.
