The Argentine men’s basketball team, who qualified for the round for being one of the two best third parties, will meet Australia in the quarterfinals of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. It will be next Tuesday, August 3 from 9:00 am, at the Saitama Super Arena.
Those led by Sergio “Oveja” Hernández arrived at this stage after losing 118-100 to Slovenia, losing 81-71 against Spain and defeating Japan 97-77. For their part, the Australians finished leaders and undefeated in group B after beating Italy, Germany and Nigeria.
Spain meets the United States, from 1.40am on Tuesday 3, and the winner of this series comes the rival of the Argentines before an eventual victory.
The rest of the quarterfinal duels are France-Italy and Slovenia-Germany, whose winners will face each other in the semifinals.
The semifinals will be on Thursday 5 and the final will be on Friday, August 6 at 11:30 p.m., while the bronze match will be at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday 7.
