The Miami Heat will reject the $ 15 million team option on forward Andre Iguodala’s contract for next season, making him a free agent, sources told Adrian wojnarowskiby ESPN.
In turn, he will exercise the option of point guard Goran Dragic of $ 19.4 million.
As the Heat create cap space, Toronto point guard and free agent Kyle Lowry remains a firm target. Sources added that Dragic could serve as a bargaining chip to acquire it from Lowry himself.
Miami needs to create more space to hire the point guard directly, or it can still struggle to work out a sign-and-trade deal with the Raptors.
