In a 100% Argentine final, Tomás Etcheverry (166 °) defeated Thiago Tirante (328 °) 6-1 and 6-1 in one hour and thirteen minutes of play to become champion of the Challenger of Trieste, Italy.
The funny thing is that this was the third definition of title between two Argentines so far this season in this category, which reflects the regular performances that national tennis players have been having.
It is worth noting that Etcheverry had won his first title less than a month ago in Perugia and this week he got rid of Argentine Camilo Ugo Carabelli, Robin Haase (Netherlands), Ukrainian Vitaliy Sachko and Kazakh Timofey Skatov, before reaching the final.
For its part, Tirante closed a tournament that he entered from qualifying anyway and in which he had not yielded a set in six presentations: He was one step away from lifting his first Challenger title.
In this way, the consecration of La Plata Etcheverry secured the ninth Argentine title at Challenger level in 2021, all in brick dust.
