The Guatemalan became the first badminton player in America to fight for a medal at the Olympic Games

The native of the Union, Zacapa, made history in the Tokyo Olympics being the first badminton player, not European, nor Asian, to be in the first four places in the most important competition of the sport.

Kevin Cordon he broke down barriers and made not only Guatemalans dream but also all of Latin America. On top of that, he earned the admiration and respect of badminton fans, athletes, and the media.

The 34-year-old participated in his fourth Olympic Games after Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. The latter being his best participation, not only for him, but for a badminton player from America. In addition, he put Guatemala in the privileged place of being the seventh country to reach the semifinals of the summer jousts.
