Jane Valencia lost any chance of reaching the bronze medal via the playoffs when her rival, Valeria Koblova, fell in their next match.
The Mexican Jane valencia was eliminated from the Olympic competition in Tokyo 2020, after falling in his first confrontation in the specialty of freestyle wrestling, in the category of 57 kilograms, against the Russian Valeria Koblova, by 5-2.
Valencia became the first Mexican athlete to represent the country in the specialty when she qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
However, the participation of Valencia was brief, after being defeated by the silver medalist of the Rio Games 2016, Koblova, who was one of the favorites to take the gold in the competition.
The possibilities of Valencia access to the possibility of a medal by way of the repechage were, however, cut off when Koblova fell in front of Iryna Kurachkina of Belarus, 6-3, in his next fight.
