Mexicans Gaby López and María Fassi start the first round of Olympic golf away from the tip

Mexican golfers Gaby lopez Y Maria Fassi started their activity in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with the first round, where both were far from the top.

Gaby lopez, who was co-flagger of the Mexican delegation – along with diver Rommel pacheco– ranked 23rd, tied with 13 other competitors in the field par, five strokes behind the provisional leader, Madelene Sagström of Sweden.

On your side, Maria Fassi it was ranked 41st, tied with six other competitors, shooting two on par on the court and seven shots from the lead.

Sagström took the lead hitting five under par, followed by Nelly korda of the United States Y Aditi Ashok of the India, both at a stroke of the Swedish.

The women’s golf competition will continue this Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Mexico, 7:30 local time, in the Kasumigaseki Country Club.
