Pool Ambrocio lost in his wrestling debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games

The Peruvian Pool Ambrocio lost in his debut in wrestling (category up to 86 kg) against the Chinese Zuzhen Lin, for the round of 16 of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

In the two periods of the match on the mat, Pool Ambrocio could not face the technical superiority of his rival, who received a score of 11-0, which gave him the pass to the quarter round.

The options for Pool Ambrocio at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will depend on China’s Zuzhen Lin advancing to the final of the event. If so, the representative of Peru in wrestling would agree to a play-off with the aim of the bronze medal.

“I did not expect the pressure that he imposed on me from the beginning. I have good stability and strength in my arms, I thought I would be more balanced. He did not give me the space to perform my techniques,” said Pool Ambrocio from Tokyo after his presentation.

“The result I expected was not given, it is uncomfortable to have lost,” emphasized the Peruvian fighter.
