TOKYO, JAPAN – The marchers Erick barrondo, Luis Angel Sanchez Y Uriel barrondo, are the athletes who represent Guatemala in the 50-kilometer march of the Tokyo Olympics at the Odori Park in Sapporo, where a total of 59 athletes took the game.

With 27 years, Luis Angel Sanchez he identifies with number 93 and makes his first appearance at the Olympic Games. He obtained his mark in the Race Walking Challenge in Dudince, Slovakia, registering his personal and season mark with a time of 3:48:56 He is the brother of Mayra Herrera, who also represents Guatemala in the Olympic Games in the competition of the 20 kilometers of the women’s march.
He is the brother of Erick Barrondo. At the age of 28, he lives his first Olympic experience. He won the gold medal at the Central American Games in Managua 2017 in the distance of 35 kilometers. He added experience in the Central American Games of the Caribbean in Barranquilla 2018 and Pan American Games in Lima 2019. He obtained first place in the Race Walking Challenge in Dudince, Slovakia and with his mark of 3:47:01, he is present in Tokyo 2020.
