Nadal's defeat snapped a 16-year streak in the rankings

Rafael Nadal lost to Lloyd Harris in Washington and from Monday he will be 4th in the world. After 16 years, only one of the Big 4 will be on the ATP ranking podium.

It will be Novak Djokovic (1st in the world) followed by Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas, two exponents of the young generation that continues to grow. Both have already played Grand Slam finals.

The last time there was not at least 2 of the 4 (Djokovic, Nadal, Federer, Murray) was on May 30, 2005, before the manacorí won his first Roland Garros. That ranking was led by Roger Federer and followed by Lleyton Hewitt and Andy Roddick. Marat Safin was the fourth and Nadal the fifth; after the Parisian tournament, Rafa (19 years old) climbed to 3rd.
