San Lorenzo celebrates: the return to the Boedo headquarters is already law

The dream of every San Lorenzo fan came true: “I’m from Boedo!” That was the cry of the sympathizers who marched to the center of Buenos Aires, after knowing the sanction of the Rezoning Law, the expected return of the Cyclone to its beloved neighborhood of Boedo. That marked the day for the entity and its followers.

This fundamental requirement was lacking for the Barça club, finally, to be enabled to build its Comprehensive Urban Project. Which includes, of course, the new stadium on Avenida La Plata.

In the precinct of the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires, in which Horacio Arrecygor, the president of San Lorenzo, and Miguel Mastrosimone, secretary of the institution, were present, the vote yielded a resounding result: 54 positive votes and only one abstention .

In the surroundings, in the streets and balconies, everything was dyed blue and red, with thousands of people who called themselves at the door of the Legislature, to support San Lorenzo in an unforgettable day.

“We could not be happier. It is a historic day for San Lorenzo and for all of us who carry that feeling in our hearts. This is the club that always cared for the residents of Boedo, which opened its doors to the community during the pandemic, and that through this definitive return will provide the neighbors with security, education, health, and better means of transportation. , jobs … We are not just talking about a football stadium, ”Arreceygor said through tears.

For his part, Mastrosimone said: “An act of justice was consummated, which has to do with returning to San Lorenzo the lands that have always been his, with the same conditions that he had. This little step was missing. It was 15 years in the Legislature It must be one of the longest laws ever discussed … It was another historic and exciting day for all San Lorenzo fans. We have ahead of us an overcoming project for Boedo. “

In November 2020, with 57 positive votes and one abstention, the bill, presented by San Lorenzo and promoted by deputy Manuel Socias, had been approved in the first reading. And in February of this year, the 10 days of the Public Hearing (where around 800 exhibitors gave their opinions about the project) allowed residents to express themselves freely.

Finally, the long-awaited dream came true and he returned to Boedo.
