Exeter Chiefs added Sam Nixon and Ryan McCauley to their ranks with temporary contracts for the next championship, seeking to replace the losses of Tomas Francis and Marcus Street due to injury.
The English club’s rugby manager, Rob Baxter, referred to both incorporations. “It was a season at Bayonne, he played many games and showed some qualities that I really like. So when the opportunity came to bring him, I did not hesitate”, said about Nixon.
On the other hand, about McCauley, coming from the Western Force, he added: “He is a tough player who is beginning to establish himself as an important forward in Australia.”
The 24-year-olds are two of the four hires Exeter confirmed on their roster, along with Iosefa-Scott and Sean O’Brien.
