Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester City - Match Report - August 15, 2021

The Korean Heung Min Son unbalanced the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium duel that rewarded the Spurs and punished the Premier’s champion, Manchester City of the Spanish Pep Guardiola, who conceded his first defeat of the season on the opening day.

They are served as a leader. Without Harry Kane, outside of the summons of Nuno Espirito Santo still thinking about his future, the team threw himself behind his back and hit the key moment of the game.

Without Kane and without Bryan Gil, who remained on the bench, Tottenham achieved their first three points in the start-up in the Premier, with Nuno responsible for a team that intends to return to the heights of a competition and leave behind the gray paper from last year.

City carried the weight of the game. Jack Grealish made his debut, the great addition to Guardiola’s squad that left Kevin De Bruyne among the substitutes. When he turned to the Belgian, it was already late.

Manchester City cornered Tottenham who managed the game as best he could and who resisted with a great Hugo Lloris.

Tottenham took the opportunity at the start of the second half, in the 55th minute, when a visiting attack turned into a quick counter by the London team that caught their rival out of place.

Steven Bergwijin gave the ball to Son, who from the top of the area took a low shot that surprised Ederson.

City desperately sought the tie. Guardiola turned to Gabriel Jesús, Oleksandr Zinchenko and De Bruyne but it did not give the expected result for the champion who left London empty and with the second official defeat of the season, the first defeat in the Premier.
