Futsal: the world champion is already in Europe

The Argentine National Team has already entered the preparation stage in Europe, the last before facing the World Cup in Lithuania, where it will defend the title of world champion obtained in Colombia 2016. The team led by Matías Lucuix carried out its first training session at the Antonio Rivilla Municipal Pavilion, in the city of Puertollano, 200 kilometers from Madrid, where it will be this week.

The team had two training sessions. The scheme was repeated in both: first they worked for an hour and a half first under the orders of the physical trainer Esteban Pizzi and then they carried out a tactical technical work, with Matías Lucuix and his assistant Nicolás Gulizia.

Differentiated jobs for Andrés Santos

The Signs Prestito player, who has been working in a different way since the end of July, after being operated on for a meniscal injury in his right knee, worked in the gym, alongside his teammates and, later, with the kinesiologists Francisco Caut and Emilio Pittavino, performing his first exercises with a ball.

How the preparation continues

The first friendly will be just on Saturday August 21 in Malaga, against Uzbekistan, as part of a triangle. The meeting will be played at 15 (Argentine time). On Sunday, August 22, the tournament will close against the local Spain, in the same city, also at 15 (Argentine time).

Then, the squad will travel to La Coruña, to face Japan in another friendly, on Tuesday, August 24, at 3:30 p.m. (Argentina time). After that series of three friendlies, Argentina will travel to Bilbao, where it will complete the work week.

Argentina will say goodbye to Spain to go to Holland, where it will face the local team (host of the next Eurocup) on Sunday 5 (at 1:00 p.m. in Argentina) and on Tuesday, September 7 (at 2:00 p.m. in Argentina) in the city of Roterdam. On September 10 it will arrive in Lithuania.

Confirmed World Cup fixture

The National Team is already preparing in Buenos Aires for the World Cup to be held this year in Lithuania, from September 12 to October 3.

On July 1, the World Cup group draw was held in Zurich and the first rivals of Argentina were defined, whom they will face in the Group Phase:

9/14 USA,

9/17 Serbia

9/20 Iran

Before them, the team led by Lucuix will seek the classification to the next phase, in search of renewing the title it has held since Colombia 2016.
