Marco van Staden, loses the second match between Springboks and Los Pumas

The forwards coach of the Springboks, Deon Davids, confirmed that Marco van Staden joined the injured list after receiving a blow during the last minute of the first game against Los Pumas last weekend. Consequently, it is low for the next engagement with Argentina.

Davids confirmed that Van Staden, who had a solid impact from the bench as a replacement in the last game, will miss the second game this Saturday against Argentina. The player joins Rynhardt Elstadt and Duane Vermeulen, who are still completing rehabilitation for their respective injuries.

South Africa kicked off its path to the Rugby Championship with a 32-12 win against Argentina last Saturday. However, the current concern is the list of injured third lines.

On the other hand, despite the Springboks confirming on Sunday that Jean-Luc du Preez had joined the team, the coach said the Sale Sharks player was still recovering from a knee injury and would not be available this Saturday.

“All of them are still busy with their rehab and will be available in the next few weeks when we go on tour to face Australia and New Zealand.”Davids said.
