Portuguese Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo broke the silence on Tuesday about his professional future.
One day after the rumor of alleged contacts with the Real Madrid coach emerged, Carlo Ancelotti, and an alleged offer to Manchester City, the Portuguese attacker came out on social networks to deny them.
“Anyone who knows me knows how focused I am on my work. However, due to everything that has been said and written recently, I feel obliged to express myself,” Ronaldo said through Instagram.
“More than the lack of respect for me as a man and a player, the frivolous way in which my future is speculated in the media is a lack of respect for all the clubs involved,” he added.
In the morning hours of Tuesday, Ancelotti also took to the networks to deny a possible return of the Portuguese to Real Madrid, a club with which he won four Champions League and owns the record for goals, among countless other achievements.
“My history in Madrid is already written,” he stressed. “In words and statistics, as well as titles. You can see it in the Santiago Bernabéu museum. Likewise, in the minds of all the club’s fans,” he continued.
“I know that the Madrid fans will continue to have me in their hearts and I will have them in mine,” Ronaldo added.
“There have been frequent news and stories associating me with various clubs in many different leagues, with no one ever worrying about trying to discover the real truth. I am breaking my silence now to say that I cannot allow people to continue using my name. I stay focused on my career and my work, committed and prepared for all the challenges I have to face. Everything else? Everything else is just words, “he said.
