A showdown between the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Lakers will top the NBA schedule on Christmas Day, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
In addition to the star-studded all-star clash with LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook for the Lakers and Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving for the Nets, the Atlanta Hawks will face the New York Knicks. That game will be a rematch of a first-round playoff series that saw Trae Young become a Madison Square Garden ‘villain’, leading the Hawks to eliminate the Knicks in five games.
The evening game will pit Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks against Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert and the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City, sources told ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.
The Nets-Lakers game could be a possible preview of the NBA Finals, as the two teams settled in in July as betting favorites to win the 2021-22 title.
