Australia must receive New Zealand, for the second day of Rugby Championship on Saturday, August 21 at Perth. This duel was called into question by new regulations from the Aussie government.
SANZAAR must define with Rugby Australia what to do for the duel between Wallabies Y All Blacks.
The McGowan government introduced a “low risk” measure, effective Wednesday, meaning New Zealanders arriving in Perth will have to be quarantined for 14 days.
It remains to be seen whether the All Blacks get a waiver of that requirement, as the Wallabies did when they played the first two games of the Bledisloe Cup in Auckland earlier this month.
“We’re not sure,” McGowan told Stuff about the state of the game.
“Maybe we have to come to an agreement, or there may be a bubble, or they just have to abide by the rules that exist for everyone else,” he concluded.
According to sources close to the government and McGowan himself, the party could be canceled. The next few hours will be essential to know what the future of this duel will be.
