Lammens: "At the end of September the public will return to the courts"

The Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Nation and former president of San Lorenzo, Matías Lammens announced this Friday that “at the end of September there will be public on the soccer fields”, and recalled that the details will be adjusted in the meeting that he will hold in the next days with authorities from the AFA and the Professional League (LPF).

“The return of the fans to football is near. At the end of September the public will return to the fields,” said Lammens in statements to Radio La Red.

The official explained that he held meetings with the Chief of Staff, Santiago Cafiero, and also with the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, in which the issue of the return of spectators to sporting events was discussed, something that has not occurred since March 2020 in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

“It is one of the issues that we discuss with the Chief of Staff and the Minister of Health. The idea is to start with a certain capacity that could be 30% and then gradually it will be increased as the health situation improves,” added Lammens .

The former president of San Lorenzo recalled that he will hold a meeting with AFA and LPF in which he will ask them to develop a special protocol for each of the stadiums and that it is not in the plans to request vaccination or a health card to enter the stands although “it is a possibility”.

“The good vaccination rate that we are having is what allows us to think about this,” Lammens finally stressed.
