Bayer Leverkusen vs. Borussia Monchengladbach - Match Report - August 21, 2021

(EFE) – The Bayer Leverkusen led by the Swiss of Spanish origin Gerardo Seoane blushed at Borussia Monchengladbach, which they thrashed (4-0) and which remains stagnant at the start of the season.

Seoane, who opens this course as manager of Bayer Leverkusen after three successful seasons with the Swiss Young Boys, achieved his first victory of the course. He drew in his debut against Unión Berlin and took off with a resounding result against Adi Hutter’s team, also in his first year at Monchengladbach.

The good start totally conditioned the game. In eight minutes the local advantage was already two goals. First, in the 3, when a Mitchel Bakker shot hit a post and then a boot from goalkeeper Yann Sommer to change direction towards the net. Five later, Czech Patrik Schick made the second pass from Moussa Diaby.

Borussia was able to close the gap and reach the interval with a better disadvantage because a foul inside the area by Bakker was sanctioned with a penalty that was launched by Lars Stindl and that was stopped by the local goal, the Finn Lukas Hradecky.

Borussia accused the blow and resigned from the second half. Especially when Seoane’s team scored the third goal, in the 55th minute. A pass from Bakker to Diaby ended with a shot that deflected the visiting defense and reached the net.

Nadam Amiri, three minutes from the end, rounded off Bayer Leverkusen’s win, which left Borussia Monchengladbach in evidence.
