With the intention that Mbappé remains at the club until 2026, PSG would offer the Frenchman a salary similar to Neymar to sign a contract extension
The newspaper L’Équipe revealed the details of the proposals made by PSG to try to retain Kylian Mbappé. The player, who until now has not wanted to renew his bond that expires in the middle of next year, is the main objective of Real Madrid.
PSG offered the attacker a contract until 2026, with a salary of 25 million euros net per year. Since the tax burden in France is higher for French players, the cost of the transaction would practically triple. However, he did not accept the offer because he considered that the duration of the link was too long. A second proposal was to renew until summer 2024 but it was also rejected by the 22-year-old footballer.
Currently, Mbappé’s gross salary is just over 25 million euros gross per year, about two million euros per month, which would be approximately 19 million euros per season.
By way of comparison, Neymar, who extended his relationship with PSG until 2025, earns around 30 million euros net per year. Only Messi has the highest salary in the squad led by Mauricio Pochettino.
According to various reports, Mbappé has informed sporting director Leonardo that he has no interest in staying with the French team after next summer. In June 2022 you can go free to any team.
On the other hand, prior to the Champions League draw. Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of PSG, told the newspaper Mark on the situation of Kylian Mbappé that “soon he will speak, that is not the moment to do that. We are working”.
There is an expectation that Nasser Al-Khelaifi will announce the forward’s likely departure in the coming days, as the transfer market is in the final stretch, causing Real Madrid to race against the clock for a deal with PSG.
