Sofia Kenin announced this Wednesday that she will not be able to play the US Open 2021, after confirming that he was infected with coronavirus. Another important loss in the women’s team for the last Grand Slam of the season.
“The Covid-19 test gave me positive. Luckily I am vaccinated and my symptoms were moderate. Anyway, I will not be able to compete next week at the US Open,” the Moscow-born player who represents the United States tweeted.
Kenin, 22, 5th in the world, was a 2020 Australian Open champion and a finalist at Roland Garros 2020. In her only appearance at the US Open last year, she reached the round of 16.
