Fiona Coghlan and Rocky Clark, two legends of women’s rugby, will play with the Barbarians that will return to action in Twickenham in november before South Africa by Killick Cup.
Coghlan and Clark will celebrate two years since that 29-15 win over Welsh in Cardiff. Both had played five times since their debut against Munster at Thomond Park in November 2017. The Irish captain and Grand Slam winner was the one who led the team that defeated 19-0, in the rain in Limerick. “The conditions were horrible and the first try came through a penalty try in a scrum. Our third and final conquest was typical Barbarian style, from our 22 yards, with good team play for Georgia Roberts to support,”Confessed the legend.
In addition, Coghlan acknowledged feeling very special the invitation to play in one of the most famous franchises in the world: “I was surprised. I had retired in 2014, so I never imagined playing for the Barbarians. What the Barbarians ethic means is key: enjoying rugby.”
