(EFE) – A goal five minutes from the end of Patrick Bamford prevented a new defeat for Leeds United by Argentine Marcelo Bielsa and the first win of the championship for Burnley (1-1), on the third day of the Premier League.
The Turf Moor clash brought together two teams that have started the course with difficulties. Neither has achieved victory so far. Not this time either.
It was a duel full of rhythm and alternatives that in the end comforted both teams.
The goals did not arrive until the second half, until game time. The team of Sam Dyche took advantage that had taken control of the party and had cornered his rival. Thus, after a corner kick and a shot after another, the action ended with a shot from Matthew Lowton that his teammate, Australian Chris Wood, deflected to take the ball into the net.
Leeds reacted. Bielsa retired the Spanish Diego Llorente and Rodrigo Moreno and sent Jamie Shackleton and Tayler Roberts to the field.
In full harassment and four minutes from time, a shot from the Brazilian Raphinha hit Patrick Bamford who almost on the goal line beat Nick Pope and established the final tie.
Equality keeps both teams at the bottom without knowing victory.
