Rajon Rondo is aiming for a comeback with the Los Angeles Lakers after his contract termination with the Memphis Grizzlies, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Rondo will meet the deadline on Monday and be signed to fill the final available spot on the Lakers roster, the sources added.
The veteran point guard was traded by the LA Clippers to the Grizzlies on August 15 as part of a three-player package for point guard Eric Bledsoe.
Rondo was acquired, from the Atlanta Hawks, at the trade deadline last season by Lou Williams and two second-round picks. The Clippers had hoped Rondo would give them lead and playoff plays as point guard, but the veteran point guard played just 13 playoff games and dropped out of coach Ty Lue’s postseason rotation.
