Josh Ioane, Chiefs' new reinforcement for Super Rugby Pacific 2022

Josh Ioane let Highlanders and became a new reinforcement of Chiefs for next season, so he will participate with his new team in the Super Rugby Pacific 2022, which has already confirmed its format.

The back, who made his debut for Highlanders in 2018 and played 42 games with this franchise, was excited about his new goals: “I loved my time with the Highlanders and I am grateful for everything they have done for me. However, I am excited to bond with the Chiefs, they have built an incredible culture up there from what I have heard and I admire what they are about. Hopefully I can add something to that environment, “he said.

Ioane made his All Blacks debut in a 2019 game against Tonga in Hamilton and was recently part of the 2021 Māori All Blacks team. Chiefs head coach Clayton McMillan filled the back with praise: “He’s a player from quality and a welcome addition to the team. Their versatility and experience are advantageous, but more importantly, it creates greater depth and genuine competition for places on our bottom line. “
