Román Burruchaga, champion and celebration like Jorge in '86

A celebration that many of you already know: On your knees, looking at the sky and with your arms outstretched, Roman Burruchaga celebrated his second professional title just like his father did in the final of Mexico 1986.

The Argentine closed a dream tour of Poland. Going 12-1 and having given up just 4 sets in the last three weeks, the young tennis player was crowned at the M25 in Poznan after beating Pawel Cias 5-7, 6-3 and 6-2. The curious thing about the match was in his final celebration when he fell to his knees to the ground and, without realizing it, did the same thing as Jorge in the final against Germany.

“It’s tremendous. I didn’t think about that. It came out like this.”Román commented after his consecration. With two titles under his arm, Burruchaga asserts himself with his great super present.
