Cristiano Ronaldo: "I can't wait to play at Old Trafford"

LONDON – The Portuguese footballer, five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, said he could not “wait to play at Old Trafford”, the stadium of Manchester United, club for which the Portuguese has signed a two-year contract.

This was stated by the club itself in a statement, in which Ronaldo expressed his desire to have a “successful season” with Manchester United, the team he was part of between 2003 and 2009, and that he admitted that he “has always had a special place” in his heart.

“You run out of words to describe Cristiano. He is not only a wonderful player, but also a great human being,” said the current coach of the “Red Devils”. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was “absolutely delighted” with the signing from Portuguese.

Similarly, Solskjaer said he is confident that Ronaldo “will continue to impress everyone” and that his experience will be “vital to the younger players in the squad” and that he will continue.

With this signing, the athlete will once again wear red and play at home in the stadium nicknamed the “Theater of Dreams”. During his first spell at Manchester United he scored 118 goals in 292 games, before signing for Real Madrid in 2009.

So far, Ronaldo has garnered more than 30 major trophies in his career and is already the first player to win leagues in three of the four major championships (England, Italy, Spain). In addition, he was the top scorer in the Italian Serie A last season and won the golden boot at the last European Championship.
