Mexico added another medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games by finishing third in the 100-meter T54 test
Juan Pablo Cervantes Garcia, in the 100 meters T54, he gave the only medal to Mexico on the day of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. The parathlete finished in third place in his test and took the bronze.
The Mexican delegation already has 14 medals in Tokyo 2020, eight of them are bronze, one silver, in addition to five gold.
ATHLETICS GAVE THE ONLY MEDAL OF THE DAY
Three representatives from Mexico participated in the athletics. However, only Juan Pablo Cervantes García managed to get on the podium. Cervantes García participated in the 100 meters T54, a test in which he qualified for the final, after finishing in first place in his elimination heat with a time of 13.85. Already in the race for the medals, he stopped the clock at 13.87, close to the 13.85 that marked the second place, which went to the Finn Leo Pekka Tahti, while the gold went to Athiwat Paeng-Nuea of Thailand with 13.76.
