The scheduled fight between Aspen Ladd and Macy Chiasson that could not take place last weekend, has been rescheduled for next October 2 in Las Vegas, sources confirmed to ESPN Sports.
Although the event has not been officially confirmed by the UFC, Brazilians Thiago Santos and Johnny Walker are expected to meet in the main event.
The confrontation was canceled hours before the official weigh-in, when Chiasson suffered health complications on July 22. Although Aspen asked for a rival for that weekend, specifically former champion Miesha Tate, it was impossible to keep her on the undercard starring Cory Sandhagen and TJ Dillashaw.
Ladd (9-1), 26, is one of the most promising fighters in the Bantamweight division, with her only win against No. 1 seed Germaine De Randamie in July 2019. If she wins, she could have a serious argument to be the next challenger to the championship that Amanda Nunes will defend against Julianna Peña at UFC 265 on August 7.
He recently used his Instagram account to report that he would have a fight announcement in the next few hours. Chiasson (7-1) is on a two-game winning streak against Shanna Young and Marion Reneau, respectively. She is ranked in the top 10 at 135 pounds.
With the exception of UFC 267 to be held in Abu Dhabi, all the cards for the month of October are expected to take place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
