Sonny Bill Williams "taken aback" by Quade Cooper's absence from the Wallabies

After the Wallabies’ loss to New Zealand last weekend, Sonny Bill Williams was taken aback by the non-selection of Quade Cooper for the Aussie team.

“The non-selection that puzzled me before the game was Quade Cooper’s”, Williams said on Stan Sport and added: “I know he can be impartial leaving my lips, because I am close to him, but only from a rugby point of view, what he can add to the team …”.

In addition, the former player of the All blacks analyzed: “Reece is a great player, but I think in terms of unlocking this great All Blacks defense, Quade is the man.”

With James O’Connor out due to injury, the coach Dave rennie, continues to persist with Noah lolesio, of 21 years of incumbent opening, while in Reece Hodge and Matt To’omua these are generally your other options.

On the other hand, Rennie said last week that O’Connor is close to returning and could be considered for the selection heading into next Sunday’s game against the Springboks in Gold Coast.
