Football clubs are often measured by their fans with a single yardstick, the results on the pitch. But our non-profit civil societies are much more than a championship, a qualification for International Cups or beating the classic rival.
Well, one of the developing flagship clubs of amateur disciplines, which is always looking for improve its infrastructure to give satisfaction to its partners is Vélez Sarsfield. And Fortín launches a Master Plan to revalue José Amalfitani. It will apply to grandstands, stalls, playing field and different sectors of the interior of the venue.
After the inauguration in 2019 of the Victorio Spinetto Campus, a 16,000 m2 synthetic grass work in the Sports Center, with irrigation, LED lighting, FIFA certification and technology. 11 fields, which houses the members of the club who practice recreational soccer, there is a continuity in the development of works.
With a view to being completed in 2023, it contemplates the change of 19,200 seats in the four stalls of the stadium. In addition, it aims to modify the lighting system of the court to add LED technology. This work, according to the information provided by the institution, will begin in 2022.
The Master Plan also involves painting tasks and the incorporation of highlight lighting on the southern façade of the court. In addition, changes will be made in the lighting and in the arrangement of the main sponsors.
On the other hand, the playing field will be replaced by a mixed grass surface, in order to improve the profile, the drainage system and give the floor heating, to guarantee the growth of the grass in times of low temperature.
They also planned to add 12 new VIP boxes to be used in official matches, events and musical recitals. They will have an air conditioning system, Wi-Fi connection, VIP seats and other exclusive services. And there will be changes in the changing rooms: floors, furniture, lighting will be modified and repairs will be made.
Finally, on the third level of the headquarters, the club will have an audiovisual studio for live broadcasts and with equipment for digital broadcasting. It will serve, among other things, for the development of electronic sports. There will also be a resto-bar called Intercontinental on the ground floor, remodeled again. Finally, with a view to the musical events, there will be remodeling of the entrances to gates 10 and 15 to expedite the entry of trucks and machinery.
Sergio García González, treasurer of Vélez, explains which is one of the main objectives of the work: “There will be hybrid grass, as in the most important playing fields in England, Spain and Italy. Today Vélez meets all international requirements required by Conmebol regarding lighting, but we are going to change it to LED. The idea is to put the stadium among the most important in the region, “he said.
