Unpublished instance for Sakkari and Raducanu at the US Open

Maria Sakkari will face Britain’s Emma Raducanu for a place in the US Open final. Unprecedented instance for anyone who is the winner in the Arthur Ashe.

In less than 24 hours the Greek will return to the court after her best victory in Grand Slams (against Karolina Pliskova) to overcome. The 26-year-old Greek tennis player never made it past the fourth round in 20 major tournament appearances until reaching the final four at the French Open last June.

Raducanu, of a Romanian father and Chinese mother, who was born in Toronto (Canada), but after two years the family moved to London was out of the Top 300 at the end of June when he had the opportunity to play at Wimbledon thanks to an invitation. In that Grand Slam debut, he reached the fourth round before stopping during that match when he had trouble breathing. Today is a revelation that has no ceiling.

He arrives with the spirit through the clouds after descending to the Olympic gold medal of Tokyo 2020: Belinda Bencic. It will be the first duel between the two.

The other semifinal will be starred by the Canadian Leylah Fernández, 19 years old and 73 in the world, who will face the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, second favorite. Watch the entire US Open on STAR +.
